Umbria in Harmony was set up in 2018 by mother and daughter team Ali and Emily Barden. Both are passionate about singing and all things Italian, so what better than to combine the two! The aim is to provide joyful, inspirational holidays centred around singing together whilst enjoying Umbria’s considerable charms.

Do you love singing and especially love singing with others? Then you’ve come to the right place. Imagine doing what you love with like-minded people in the beautiful Umbrian town of Castiglione del Lago overlooking Lake Trasimeno in the ‘green heart’ of Italy.
We loved your choice of repertoire. We loved the way you taught. We loved that you believed we could be better than we thought! Thank you all for making this such a truly special week.
We aim to provide a fun filled week of learning, laughing, and of course singing in the magnificent setting of this historic town perched above tranquil Lake Trasimeno. You will be taught an eclectic mix of songs by inspirational choral leaders in a stunning location surrounded by frescos and views over the lake. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the town and sample the excellent food and drink the region is famous for.
Umbria in Harmony’s choral leaders facilitate uplifting, restoring, sometimes challenging, but always harmony filled sessions that enable participants to feel for themselves the joy and release singing with others can bring, as well as experiencing the thrill and satisfaction of working hard to achieve a high musical standard.
Although it is not a requirement to read music, we are ambitious in our choices of repertoire and will provide sheet music where appropriate as an aid. However, the emphasis is on learning by ear and blending our voices to create a joyful cohesive musical sound together.
Accommodation is mainly at Hotel Aganoor in the centre of Castiglione del Lago. Rooms are available on a shared basis with 2/3 attendees to a room. Single occupancy is limited and will incur a supplementary charge. All rooms are well appointed and are en-suite.
Our inspirational tutors will facilitate 6 half days of singing in a stunning palazzo location, culminating in an informal performance.
In addition to the itinerary outlined below there will be some evening social and musical opportunities offered for those who wish, with quiz nights and open mic events. It’s all very informal with absolutely no obligation to take part!
The price includes bed and breakfast accommodation for the duration of the stay, welcome drinks on arrival, and an evening meal on the final night. The final evening will include a performance and celebratory meal at a fantastic local restaurant, specialising in gastronomy of the region. Lunch and a wine tasting will also be provided on our optional trip over the border (with an additional charge PP) to the Tuscan town of Montepulciano.

If you, as purchaser, cancel between 8 and 42 days of the start of the holiday we will refund the balance paid but will retain the deposit.
• If you, as the purchaser, cancel 7 days or less before the start of the holiday, we will be unable to refund the cost of the holiday or return your deposit.
• Any client choosing to leave their hotel earlier than scheduled will receive no refund for unused accommodation.
• In the event of unforeseen circumstances requiring ‘Umbria In Harmony’ to cancel we will refund all monies paid to us.
Our liability to the Purchaser in the event of cancellation or postponement by Umbria in Harmony is limited to the deposit and any other sum the Purchaser has paid to Umbria in Harmony for the specified singing holiday. We have no liability whatsoever for any and all other costs or expenses incurred by the Purchaser, including, but in no way limited to, any and all travel costs, as a result of the cancellation or postponement of Umbria in Harmony by us for any reason whatsoever.
